A Stainless Steel Crown can save a baby tooth! Even though baby teeth are temporary, it is important to realize how essential they are to the child's permanent teeth. Baby teeth play a crucial role in helping kids learn to speak and chew food, but they also save space for their adult teeth.  This is why, if your child has a badly decayed baby tooth, a stainless steel crown may be the best solution.

When a baby tooth is extensively decayed and using other filling materials isn't likely to be successful, we recommend restoring the tooth with a stainless steel crown, especially if the tooth requires treatment of the nerve. After removing the decay, Dr. Abdoney will place a prefabricated crown made of stainless steel around the entire tooth. Some benefits of stainless steel crowns are: durable and inexpensive, full protection of the tooth, very little sensitivity and are often used for an attachment for a space maintainer.
